Gray Whale in the surf. Photos not taken aboard the Condor Express, but may be of interest. While conducting our regular Thursday beach research at Malibu High School, we observed this whale for over an hour and a half. It spyhopped, rolled around, swam, showed its tail flukes and otherwise appeared to be having fun in the surf zone. This occurred from approximately 930am to 11am, and I don't think this is the same whale that made the local news down around the Malibu Pier.
