The Humpback Whale (Megaptera novaeangliae) known as "notcho" takes a deep dive.

Here we see the left flanks and dorsal fin of a mighty Blue Whale.  The darker marks to the left appear to be propeller scars.
This whale has been seen several years in a row in the Santa Barbara Channel, and first showed up this season around March.  The scars appear to have been caused by a small boat propeller.
