Close look at the splashguard and head of a Humpback.
A slender Blue Whale (Balaenoptera musculus) glides up to take a breath of air.  You can see the snout and back of the animal still submerged, with only the top of the splashguard penetrating the surface of the ocean.  (The twin blowholes are located on the back of the splashguard...to the left in this photo).
